Throughout the year, Little Bit serves people with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities through therapeutic riding. Little Bit offers three 14-week sessions annually. Our riders typically participate once per week in one of the following programs: Adaptive Riding, Hippotherapy, and Vaulting. The therapeutic approach in each of these programs is different; but, all our riders, regardless of the sort of program they are enrolled in, experience the unique affect of equine-assistance in a dynamic social environment.

Riders work with a trusted, accepting four-legged partner and are assisted by attentive and encouraging instructors and volunteers. The horse's soothing rhythm, strength, warmth, and three-dimensional movement pattern provides healthy exercise while improving circulation and muscle tone. Beyond just physical benefits, riders improve their self-esteem and independence as they interact with their peers, volunteers, and instructors. Also, relationships between a horse and rider are proven to reduce anxiety, and encourage confidence. The entirety of this experience cannot be over-emphasized. All of it instills a greater sense of accomplishment and empowerment for each of our riders in diverse ways.
